Geek Fu #2 - Podcast the Second
Ha! I made it to Podcast the Second! I took an essay published a couple of years ago in Grumble Magazine and had my husband, Jim Van Verth, help me out with it. The topic is geek crushes, and why the ladies love those skinny guys with glasses.
People who I didn’t mention in my podcast, as I hoped to keep it under 10 minutes (it’s a little over 11, so sue me):
- John Linnell of They Might Be Giants and his hysterical, brilliant songs, not to mention his beautiful bedroom eyes
- Neil Gaiman and his entertaining blog and fabulous stories, as well as his all-black wardrobe.

From one “Mur” (MurDog) to another Mur…The Alton Brown essay is incredible. I am laughing out loud because I too have a crush on Alton Brown, albeit a non-sexual male crush, a crush non-the-less. I laughed outloud multiple times… I want a saucier … I want it bad…

Murdog, my husband bought me a saucier for Valentine’s Day after we started watching Good Eats (several years ago). I was utterly thrilled.

Pointless I know, leaving a comment on a 4 year old podcast. Mur, I am a new fan, sent through WWdN and his Favorite things (PseudoPod, obviously I started at the beginning) and now I feel like I’ve been missing out on great things for a decade. You had been watching Alton Brown since 2000? I discovered him, maybe three years ago. Oh well.
