Wow. I can't tell you how many times I was foolish enough to think that this would work. but fortunately I was just lazy enought to not actually do these things. Great essay. Congrats on the news article about you.

Forget about Podcast Alley. It is still a friendly way to find shows, but unless you want to devote yourself to whoring for votes then you should move on. It's the center of the podcasting for podcasters universe. If you tell me what mic you use I'll tell you what I use and we can all be comrades and we can vote for each other and spend time on our shows talking about each other shows instead of actually doing something original. Most of these shows are like that joke you see in textbooks "Tune to page 36, turn to page 48, turn to page 61, turn to page 36..."

Your show is excellent because your essays are thoughtful, insightful and humorous. Having more/less votes won't change that, but spending less time on the essence of the show and more on soliciting votes can. And not in a good way.

Just keep in mind that if popularity equaled quality that McDonalds would be the gold standard that all chefs strived to achieve. You are far better than that. Your latest essay proves that. Most people see that marketing and feel they need to meet the status quo.
