I totally identify with the comment thing. When I started my
blog, I looked forward to all the wonderful comments I was going
to get. When they were not forthcoming, I started trying to
write specifically to spark comments, which is bit like teaching
to the test. Now I just try to write whatever pops into my
head. Of course, your writing is so great that I don’t see how
you don’t elicit a huge response!

I know exactly what you’re saying! Your comment that well-written and meaningful posts don’t elicit as much response as trivial bullshit is definetly something that has happened to me multiple times. I still use LiveJournal though. Sometime you just get the itch to write… And there are those rare few people who use LJ to write things that are worth reading. I think I know of a total of one guy who does that. And of course, that’s including me. I use LJ for just as much trivial bullshit as anyone else. I just try to use decent grammar and as few noticeable lapses in punctuation as physically possible. And if I get the urge, I’ll post something long and meaningful. Everyone skims it and moves on, but it’s the writing itself that’s most important to me.
