Another good show Mur. Add me to the list of people who would have enjoyed your Sith rany (even if I haven't and won't see the movie...at least until dvd comes out).

I can't speak on monetary compesation for fiction writers as the ones I'm familiar with are fan fic writers who will practically tackle you just to have your read and comment on their stuff. However I really don't think it is unfair for podcasters to have a tip jar on thier site. Subscription type deals wouldn't work because the caster wouldn't get any new listeners and chase away a lot of the ones they already have gained.

I'm still checking various pod casts to find shows I like (very new to this) but have only found two that I check for weekly and would only be willing to pay for: Geek Fu and This Week in Tech. So I guess I need to get off my lazy ass and donate then. Won't be much, but more of a thank you.

Mur, I love the show and I am glad you finally seem comfortable running longer now. I don't care much for reviews but your show is always top notch, as is your work for Winging It.

I did want to comment on the pay for podcasting mention you gave. It's fine if people want to podcast but the people who act entitled to compensation for it can all go away now. It's the same as acting as if they should be paid for blogging. What is it about speaking something instead of writing it that makes people become so grandiose?

I've stopped listening to most shows I started listening to because their 30 mins of "content" is reduced to about 12 after all the begging for votes, promos, the thinly-veiled-promo-called-an-audio-comment and shout outs to the other podcasters that they know. Of that 12, 5 is talking about podcasting. Nothing is worse than podcasting about podcasting. The ONLY people who get a pass on talking about their work IN their work are Adam Curry (because that's what he does) and On The Media.

I mean who would buy a magazine consisting of articles about how they made the magazine and reviews of other magazines about making magazines?

Thanks for not being one of those and being excellent.

Great podcast mur!, but i really want to hear your rant about starwars ep III!!!! I too was not verly enthused by the movie. It was an ok movie, but it was not great star wars. Just really curious to know why you ate it, and if your reasons coincide with my reasons for not totally loving it :-) It's nice to know i am not alone with my feelings about the new star wars!

I did a similar rant about doing free stuff for exposure in my last podcast. I'm totally on oard with the atitude you're taking on the subject. I also look forward to the Chapel Hill podcast meet. I can't afford to donate, but Iwill set aside some cash for admission, etc...

I'm for the con too... I just wish I could afford to donate for it. But I would certainly put some cash aside for the admission, etc...
