In Which I Show Off My Ig’nernt Side

How the crap is This WEEK in TECH #1 on podcast alley when I haven’t downloaded any shows? I’ve checked the feed three times, and it’s not seeing any shows. I really doubt people people would be voting for a show that isn’t really there, so the problem is obviously on my end…

If anyone could help, I’d apprecaite it. I’ve been wanting to check it out.

I wish I could help, but I can only commiserate. There seems to be a great demand for these shows. Every time I try to download one I have trouble. I guess that’s why they have so many mirrors up and they keep begging people to use BitTorrent to save their bandwidth.

    Hi Mur,

At http://thisweekintech.com/podcasts there are the feeds you can drop into your aggregator. I use the bookmarkable AAC bittorrent feed and it comes down quickly.

    Hope this helps.

My experience is that the bittorrent feeds don’t work - at least with doppler. The regular feeds don’t work either because the use some content distribution network that really doesn’t work. I download that show via bittorrent from the site.

I had to switch to the torrent feed to get it to work. I am using iPodderX 3…. Torrent is built in. I was having all kinds of problems with the other versions of their feed.

I’m using iPodderX 3 as well. My TWIT sub is looking here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/twit-aacb and I’m getting shows without any trouble. Hope this helps!

PS You write for Computer Games Mag? I used to be one of the editors there, back when it was Strategy Plus.

I hadn’t been able to get their show for a couple weeks, either. Today I was finally able to download the two most recent shows from links at PodcastAlley, but I’m still trolling their mirrors to get a couple of the shows from the past 2-3 weeks.

I am subscribed to it, but most of the time it is faster just to go to their site and use get the torrent. It’s worth checking out. Informative and enjoyable.

Don’t feel too bad; I’m in a similar download hell. iPodderX is actually downloading my shows, but isn’t offloadng them into iTunes — or rather it offloads some, but not others. Freaking frack!!!

The way their podcast feeds incorporate URLs is, shall we say, unorthodox. IPodder Lemon can’t deal with their podcast feeds, either. I grab the URL out of their feed and shove it into Azureus, which works perfectly. It’s cumbersome as hell, though.
