Birthday and Fangirl Crush Musings
General July 29th, 2005
For about the last 12 years, I have celebrated my brithday along with Jason from Random Signal, his birthday being July 19 and mine the 25th. We celebrate the 6 days that we are the same age. Not once have I celebrated the fact that, for four days after that, I am the same age as Wil Wheaton.
This must stop.
So happy birthday, Wil, enjoy 33 and I’ll see you there next July 25.
Geek Fu #33 - You Had Me, Then You Lost Me
Podcasting July 24th, 2005
My Odeo Channel (odeo/58da2acbe4a7476c) (Pay no attention to this. Stupid WP won’t recognize comment tags)
Thirty three. I mention birthday prep, congrats to the brobdingnagian bards, upcoming Dragon*Con panel, and an essay about books that I desperately tried to like, cause everyone else liked them.
If I’ve forgotten any, let me know. Some people make notes while editing that they need links, but not me! I live life on the EDGE! The edge of laziness and forgetfulness!
Podcast is recorded. halfway through editing and mixing, Audacity died on me. No time to fix, gotta get ready for a birthday party. Will fix and upload tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
*grumble grumble need that mac and garageband grumble grumble*
Long Time Listener Help!
General July 22nd, 2005
If any long-time listener can mail me a copy of the very first geek fu action grip, along with their home address, I will send them one of my prototype Geek Fu Action Grip t-shirts.
I can’t believe I don’t have a copy…. sigh…
[EDIT] OK, my husband wins. He keeps better backups than I do. But he already has a shirt. So I will have to come up with some other giveaway…
Geek Fu #32 - Tivo Nation
Podcasting July 17th, 2005
You know, next week I turn 32. And this is my 32nd podcast. I’m vaguely disappointed that I didn’t manage to time this *just so*, since next week will be podcast the 33rd. Ah well.
This podcast marks the return of the essay! And I review Alpha Shade, discuss my trip to the Mac store, and other sundries.
And happy birthday Jason! (on the 19th)
Geek Fu #31
Podcasting, Media, Geek! GEEEEK! July 11th, 2005
Special Guest Jason Adams from Random Signal returns, and we do geek music again. Jason breaks me at the end. You’ve been warned. There’s swearing. There’s Batman Begins spoilers.
I mention that if you do skype me (mightymur), please let me know who you are and why you’re messaging me. Something as simple as “I listen to your podcast and want to say hi.” That’s all I need.
And I forgot to mention (I even had a note for this) that even though I can’t talk about what I’m writing now, I can tell you what I’ve written that has just been published: World of Warcraft the RPG and Cult of Illuminated. And I’ve decided to change my last name to Aardvark because then I won’t be lost in the “et. al.” list of authors on a book.
Podcast notes:
