Geek Fu #38 - Creativity is *hard*

Sorry this is late, haven’t felt terribly inspired lately. We have a new contest, I’ll do a random drawing of emails I get for free shirts! Whoo! Thanks to the sponsor, Splitreason.com.

Hopes, thoughts, and prayers are with the people who are affected by Katrina.

Forgot to mention we have new forums at TSFPN.com!

Your podcast is always the bright spot to my Monday. And I think someone knew I would need your wit and wisdom a day late this week. Stupid outsourced tech support… Let’s be sure to get pictures of that Crayola purple here in the show notes. ;-)

Agree totally with your essay Mur. How many times have I heard someone say, “I could write a book about ,” and I’ve thought, “Oh yeah? Just try it. Let’s see how far you get.”

Who was it who said writing was easy — you just have to sit down with a blank sheet of paper and concentrate while droplets of blood form on your forehead?

    – must remember not to use those angle brackets…. ;-)

“So, like, OK. I’ve got this other idea. First, we make this really angsty prince, right? We totally nail the Goth section of the market. And his dad, the king, has died, but he’s back as a ghost. So then, the kid has to want to sleep with his mother…”

Your depiction of Romeo and Juliet’s early writing phase left me with a terminal case of the giggles, Mur. Great work. :)
