I just got an email from lulu.com that my CD’s won’t work because they are mono and they require stereo.

They did not tell me they required stereo files when I made the CD’s.

So whoever tried to order them - please email me privately and I’ll burn you the CD’s you want. They won’t have pretty artwork, but at least you’ll get them…

Grumble.

A lame excuse if I ever heard one! (Of course, I don’t know the details — never having used a service like lulu.com — but surely a set of mono audio files will produce a set of mono CD audio tracks? It shouldn’t make any difference….)

Indeed, lame… I’d think that they could just convert the files themselves. If it’s easy enough for us to do it on a home PC, I don’t see the trouble in doing it with whatever they use.

Ugh, that bites. Not only for you, but because I was thinking of doing The Whole Truth the same way, and the first several months of it are in mono.

You should be able to easily batch convert them to stereo all at once with CDEx. http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

You proberly already got iTunes installed on you computer, you can also use it to converter the files to mp3 stereo. You can set it up by going to “Edit->Preference ->Importing -> settings” choose custom now set your “bitrate” to 128/160 and “sample rate” 44100 and “channels” to Stereo.
Once you have done this, all you got to do is load the tracks into iTunes, select them and right click and choose “convert selection to MP3″…. all done.
Be aware the file size will be about 2,5 times bigger than before.

    I thought it was smurf?

Too bad about the CDs. I’ll hit you up for some later. :) Especially when you have Wargamer size T-shirts.

Hope Dragon Con was a blast. It sure sounded like it on the Dragon Page podcast. :)

I think we worked on this issue with mono files and now have it resolved. I’m sorry that you ran into this problem!
