Something that bugged me when listening to this show was the rant about putting stressful things in perspective. It seemed hypocritical, or maybe just ironic that earlier in the show you had been talking about how things like parking on the wrong deck at Duke had totally affected your day negatively. Seems like a prime example about something to put in perspective and not stress about.

Sorry for the negative comment. I do enjoy your show quite a bit and look forward to listening each week.

Mur you are so funny,

Listening to you stress about being stressed was very funny. When I get stressed by things....I just tell myself to "Be the water". Water molds itself to whatever container it is in. Don't be rigit.

I was a military wife for 10 years. Then got dumped with 4 kids. I raised them by myself. I would never go off on any mom who's husband was away. The woman who yelled at you...well I would say "SHE" was not handling her situation. So she took it out on you. She was having her own little pitty party.

It took me awhile but I figured out that the best way to get through anything is to see the whole picture, then plan the steps to get to where you want to go, don't stress about "ALL" the steps. Only think about doing the first step, then the next and next. Keep going until you get it done. As far as the parking thing....don't sweat the small stuff...it ain't no big thing.

Have a really great day!

What a fantastic show/rant this one was. We all get stressed sometimes. But when you're parking in the wrong slot, or getting heckled by university undergrads just remember the hitchiker's guide advice (in flashing neon)

Mur,

I have met you at Dragon*con a few times. I am a friend of Rachelle's, and I just wanted to say that I am loving your show. I just got an Ipod for the holidays and I am discovering the joy that is podcasting.

Thanks,

Dear Mur,

I just finished listening to your last podcast. The one where you ranted about your fears and worries about Duke University. I'm sure someone out there is going to complain about the show not fiting the standards of SFPN, or about it having no structure or point to it. So to whomever decides to complain about this show, I say: "Shut up!"
	I loved it.
I have never before e-mailed a podcaster, and I am a podcast junkie, but I had to e-mail you. I listened to the show right after me and my brother finished a discussion about stress, and you talked about just what I needed to hear. It was awesome, I mean, it was "This American Life" awesome. You said what you needed to say and it was real and true and I'm sure a lot of people could relate.
I am glad that podcasting is the kind of media that needs not to be overly polished to be effective, and I think this lack of polishing is what makes it so wonderful. It creates community--unlike mainstream media.
So thank you for making my day a little better (now that I know I'm not the only person that stresses so much), and may your day be an awesome one. I'll be looking forward to hearing how the D&D thing went.

Best wishes to you and your family,
Hector
