I'm an illustrator, working in the game industry... and I find listening to these wonderful podcasts helps keep my butt in the chair and getting the work done. So, thank you for enteraining me whilst I get the art chores done! I will be listening to a lot more of your podcast (I have been picking through many of the related sights, the Gamers, Sons of Kryos, Harping Monkey.... this is a brand new adventure for me. A nice change of pace to listening to NPR all day long. I have just to my first Geek Fu podcast, this one. I’m an illustrator, working in the game industry… and I find listening to these wonderful podcasts helps keep my butt in the chair and getting the work done.

You were right about the episode of BSG -- it was formulaic, hackneyed, and dry. They underutilized a quality actor in Bill Duke -- no, they completely wasted him in the role. I listened to Ron Moore's podcast of the episode, and agreed with him on it; but I refuse to let him off the hook. He doesn't have the luxury of 24 episodes per season so that he can waste one. If he knew it was awful going in, then why didn't he either fix it or toss it? After all, he has already said that they have combined at least three different episodes at various points this season; I would think that they do have more stories they can work with - take the time to get this one right and revisit the story later this season or sometime next season. Ah, well, water under the bridge, I suppose. The following week was a bit better (though I'm really getting tired of the use of flashback exposition - this makes three episodes in a row), with Kat bucking up against Starbuck's authority. I did like how Starbuck turned things around at the end -- after all, it is not about who the real badass is, but about those who are no longer present... Mur —
