Part 2 of Heaven - remember, the title is a work in progress, so let me know if you think of anything.

Geek Fu Action Grip will be joining Far Point Media in the future, so there may be some small changes around here.

I really like your story and look forward to future episodes.
I do really like the “Heaven” name but wanted to throw out a couple suggestions.

    “The Test Of Time”
    “Visions Of Paradise”

    mistyped one of my titles.
    should be:

    “The Tests Of Time” (plural)

Mur, this story rocks. The character evolution worked well, I think. There’s just enough conflict to believe that she really doesn’t somebody else to just -give- her everything.

Thanks. I’m looking forward to hearing some more of this great work.

Give the dog a hug for me… “Doggie needs a new knee” made me almost fall off my chair.

Best of luck with getting that podcasting track going at Dragon*Con. I look forward to it!

I am really liking the Heaven stories.

Here are some titles that I was thinking

Heaven Pt 1: Roads to Paradise
Heaven Pt 2: Illusions of Paradise

Or a title for the whole thing: Divine Truths

I really really enjoy these stories. Honestly, they have become the highlight of my week, and I cant wait for the next one.

I think you should just stick with the title Heaven, because the title seems to mean different things in each episode (well, as far as i can tell so far.)
I’m one for simplicity anyway. I just think if you named them anything different, anything more specific, you’d be revealing too much of the story, and i like that you dont quite know what to expect the stories to be about. Kinna like heaven. I think you’d be selling them short if you retitled them.

I’m really enjoying the Heaven series. It seems, after the first two installments, like you have set up the pilot for some sort of episodic series. Like we’ll be getting a new adventure every time. Is that the case? Don’t answer, I’d rather be surprised. :)

    Some suggestions for a title:
    The Heaven Next Door
    What Comes Next
    Pearl, Gates

Although, truthfully, I’ve always found it much easier to title a story after it’s finished than before.

Anyway, good luck with the story, as I said, i’m enjoying it and am looking forward to the next installment. Also, I hope you feel better soon and that your dog will be ok.

Mur, I’ve got no suggestions for a title. I’m really excited for the story. I like your views of the afterlife and the character growth and interactions. Keep it up! :)

I like “Heaven” for the title. It’s simple and to the point.

Really enjoying the podcast! I started listening a couple of weeks ago because of your promo on Slice of SciFi.

  • 10. Grenge replies at 10th April 2006 um 4:00 am :

I think the simple title “Heaven” should stay, or only change it slightly to “Heaven?” as it sounds like the concept of Heaven will evolve with the characters (or character?)

Hope you get better soon Mur. I know what its like for my son to bring home surprises from childcare as well, Then having myself and my wife sick on alternate weeks.

I love the show. I’m only a new listener, I think I started around episode #49, but I am going back and listening to the podcasts from the beginning. I can also relate well to the mentions of your child as my son is around the same age, 3 but turns 4 in a few months.
Keep up the good work. Look forward to the next episode.

I often wonder that myself about Lost. The best excuse I could come up with (other than it would make for crappy television) is that because these people all need each other to survive, they tend to be more forgiving. It’s like one big family; there are always members that are assholes or wingnuts, but they all come together for each other…

  • 12. raequel replies at 11th April 2006 um 10:03 am :

    love the story, i’m hooked.

    titles?

    Afterlife Interstate Chronicles
    The Journey to Forever

you know i’m good with titles…

  • 14. Ronald-san replies at 11th April 2006 um 11:34 am :

I had an idea near the end of the second chapter when I was listening on friday it came to me.

    “A Different Kind of Heaven.”

    Mur,

I’m a farily new listener, and just wanted to say that I love the Heaven story. I am very much looking forward to future episodes!

Also, I really like the simple title “Heaven”. Seams to fit perfectly to me!

    Hey mur,
This doesn’t have to do with geek fu but you might wanna check on voices. Aparently someone messed with the feed and instead of getting “Travel With Confidence Part One” we get some strange buddhist cast.

  • 17. Scott Haley replies at 13th April 2006 um 6:32 pm :

I really like your story “Heaven.” I did wonder a bit about one thing:

    spoiler space

After being married to the fake version of her friend, only to find that he wasn’t exactly real, why did she accept the second version as real when he knocked on her door? In her situation, I would have trouble trusting anything. How does she know that he’s not a more sophisticated illusion to make her happy?

I’ll be glad to hear part three.

    Hi Mur,
I’ve been enjoying your stories. Keep them coming! Sorry to hear that you’re sick, get better soon!

I think “Heaven” is a good title. Maybe the reason why you didn’t get any suggestions the first time around is because “Heaven” fits the story. If I had to suggest a title, what about “This is Heaven?” Otherwise, it’s all good to me.

    Take care,
    Patrick

    Just one quick title suggestion:
