Mighty Mur!

Imagine my surprise when I was listening to your latest podcast and heard the guest essay was from Mike Czaplinski. Mike and I go way back to high school, certain jobs and employers, and we now live less than 10 miles apart.

Even though I’ve known him for quite some time, I learned some things about my friend by hearing the podcast. Makes me think I’m a bad friend.

But I did tell him about Geek Fu Action Grip in the first place, so I can’t be all that bad a friend.

If you are headed to DragonCon, and are interested at all in “theatre of the mind”, I urge you to make time in your schedule to listen to a live performance from the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company (ARTC for short). I can guarantee you won’t regret it.

Love the podcast, and sorry I couldn’t make it to BaltiCon. I was itchin’ for a Button Man brawl.

Great essay Mike. Like you and Mur, I was a child of divorce and went through that separation right when Star Wars was in the theatres in ‘77. Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings were my escape from my troubles. I wonder how many times I would have seen Star Wars (13) if there hadn’t been a divorce. Hey, there are positives to every situation.
