Mur. thanks for the recommendation of the Inmortals. Audiobooks.com has some pretty good stuff up there (Lessons from a Geek Fu master included, of course), and The Inmortals is one of the best yet. also, I subscribed to Lulu (and hopefully will be publishing something this year) thanks to your podcast, so I also have to thank you for that tip too.

I understand your pain about your rejection all too well. It has happened to me so much that I'll actually be very surprised if I manage to sell something (and that would include autopublishing in Lulu). If Heaven is any pointer on your talent, this is only a temporary setback.

Good luck in Lulu

Regards

Sorry about the rejection. It does hurt, not gonna lie about it. But you can always use the emotional energy behind it to get excercising. Which brings me to de-assify-ing. I started really working out hard and running last May. It was a bit of a battle with all of the projects I have going on and a full time job. First with the running. Run for 10 minutes at an easy pace. Once you get to ten minutes, see if you can keep going. If not, walk for a couple of minutes until you're ready, then try again. It may not seem like much at first, but it really helps by having some sort gauge for time and effort. Hope it helps!

Have you considered exercising in a large vat of Dihydrogen Oxide? It has a specific gravity close to that of your body so your knees will get a break. You need not deal with the safety hazards of keeping thousands of liters of the substance around the house. This is especially true of a person as yourself who has a small child. Of course I do advocate familiarizing children with DHO at an early age against the chance that they might stumble into a pool of the stuff. But to return to my point, in every city you can find organizations who maintain massive tanks of DHO for the use of their members. Some of these will sell non-members a day pass.

For the question about forums (as I'm writing this I'm wondering if I already posted this somewhere else... oh well), you should just modify the ISBW forums to include a geekfu forum... less work for you.

On the topic of de-ass-ification, keep up the Wii boxing.

Yes, it's not going to put a lot of muscle on your lower body, but it WILL burn calories and it will boost your metabolism, and as a result will burn off some of that fat.

You can get back to running when the weather gets better.

Mur,

Sorry about your rejection, but don't give up! Even though I'm not a writer, I've been a longtime listener and I appreciate all your hard work. It's been a real treat listening to all your stories unfold. Continue on and a bright light in the form of an agent will set you free! LOL

Thanks again!
