Geek Fu #57 - Duke D&D, stress, horoscopes
Podcasting, Gaming, Geek! GEEEEK! January 26th, 2006
In this podcast I test out my iRiver microphone and discuss my upcoming talk at Duke about D&D, the horrible horoscopes in the paper, and the creation of stress in lives without it.
Geek Fu #44 - Barry Koleman, Hero (Pt. 1)
Podcasting, Writing, Gaming October 23rd, 2005
So very much to talk about. Former prom date goes mad! The middle class have SUCH problems. And Mur puts out fiction over podcast because an essay failed to leave her mind this week.

Geek Fu #36 - Geek Cruises
Podcasting, Media, Gaming, Geek! GEEEEK! August 14th, 2005
Last Geek Music cast! From now on, I’ll be doing features on Jason Adams’ podcast, Random Signal, to introduce music. But we go out with the Beatnik Turtles, and talk about games for 2 players, Firefly, and discussions on why throwing a bunch of geeks in the middle of an ocean is not the best idea, for me, anyway.
Geek Fu #10 - Longest podcast ever
Podcasting, Writing, Gaming February 12th, 2005
Lord, there was a lot to talk about during this podcast. It goes way long. Way way long. about 17 minutes. Just a warning.
There is lots of good news, recognition of some criticism I’ve gotten, and a bit of housekeeping regarding this site. The essay centers on me conquering one of the biggest fears I’ve ever had.
Got a rejection letter today for some fiction, and I’m still smiling.

I seemed to think there was more to put in this blog posting, but I can’t for the life of me remember.* Too much World ofWarcraft, I assume.
I’m an undead gay male tailor in a skirt. I’m also a rogue, but fashion is my life.
* [EDIT] Ah yes, I wanted to mock myself before anyone else did- I *am* aware of how many times I used the word “fabulous” in this podcast. I’m still new to the improv yammering, so sue me.
Sickness and board games
Gaming, Yes, I'm a parent now... January 25th, 2005
I’m lucky I posted my podcast when I did, as my voice and my speaking staminia is shot now due to an upper respiratory virus. Kiddo is sick too. I very much hope I’ll be better by Saturday’s podcast.
Which didn’t stop us from playing the fabulous game Go Away Monster! last night. The premise of the game is simple (it is a game for 3 year olds, after all) - you have a small game board that serves as your bedroom, and you pull items out of the bag to put in your room. Bed, pictures for the wall, etc. Also in the bag are monsters. So when you draw a monster, you’re supposed to shout “Go Away Monster!” and throw it. I was showing my daughter how to play this game. However, she’s not afraid of monsters. She loves monsters. So when I would draw a monster and throw it away, she’d get it and put it in *her* bedroom. So her bedroom soon had two teddy bears, one bed, a lamp, and several monsters. Then she drew a picture of kittens for the wall. She shouted, “Go away kitties!”
If you’re a board game or RPG fan, check out the podcast Geekspeak (from boardgamegeek.com.)
