Not dead yet
General March 14th, 2006
Thanks to those who have emailed me, but Geek Fu is still on hiatus as I recover from the many deadlines I had this month. I’m not dead, I promise. Should have a new one soon.
Sorry about the ID3 tags
General February 6th, 2006
That is all. The file is fixed now.
Man, I can’t get anyone’s name right
General January 14th, 2006
So. Ralph Nader instead of Ross Perot in Podcast #55.
And I got the wrong Cheap Ass gamer. The cheapass gamer who mixes videogame music in a podcast and contributes to the Gaming Uncensored Podcast was kind enough to point out that it was the Cheap Ass Gamer, not he, who made the donations I mentioned in Podcast #52. CAG has a podcast, incidentally, if you’re a gamer who likes to save some cash.
Geek Fu #54 - Happy New Year

- I’m sick. Short podcast, no essay. Things can only improve.
- PodcasterCon is one week away!
- I’m opening Geek Fu to submissions
- Go check out Paul Jenkins’ plot thingy at the Rev Up Review
Geek Fu #53 - Belated Merry Christmas
Podcasting, General January 1st, 2006
Just a short Christmas note I recorded on Christmas Eve…. then carried around on my iRiver for a week.
Very sorry.
Sorry for the delay
General December 30th, 2005
Got back from holiday travels and then got hit with another cold. So I’m sick again. Will get a podcast up ASAP.
Happy New Year.
And Podcastercon is only 8 days away! I should be well for that. Huzzah!
For Itunes subscribers
General November 6th, 2005
Apparently iTunes did not catch part 3 in the feed, so I’m reposting it. Apologies to people who get this twice.
More podcast delays
General October 31st, 2005

This one is tired and short, and quite late. Sorry about that. Adult language. It’s about plants. And godhood.
New Contest Coming!
General September 26th, 2005
I’ve been gnashing my teeth about the fact that Mirrormask is not coming to NC in the forseeable future, but then I got the opportunity to run a contest to give away Mirrormask swag! So if you are in one of the lucky places it’s coming out, please go see it and tell me how wonderful it is. Stay tuned for the contest info, I’ve got some really cool stuff to give out!
Lazy Mur - Pictures
General September 14th, 2005
Pictures! You’ve wanted pictures, you got them. Only, I’m lazy and pointing at my good friend Eric Coker’s photo album. There are three or four pics of me, my husband, and Jason from Random Signal. And yes, you can see that the hair is purple.
There are also pics of the podcasting panel. Which I’m considering putting out on the net, since no one else has done so yet.
Forgot to mention
General September 12th, 2005
Got an email from beth who said:
…I’ll mention a web site I’m involved with that is helping people contact friends and family who are missing, http://www.familymessages.org or http://familymessages.yahoo.net. Anything you could do to help spread the word about the site would be great and help people find each other.
So spread the word.
No Stretch Breaks in Hell
General September 7th, 2005
Got back from vacation to hear “hey, didn’t I tell you, your deadline is Friday” when I already had a deadline on Friday. So I’ve been stressed. Podcasts have suffered.
Then today I got another email, “Oh, can you make it Thursday instead? If not, then first thing Friday is fine.” [emphasis mine]
See, maybe it’s the RPG writer in me, but I tend to believe that when the assignment is due on Friday, that means the end of the day on Friday, meaning I have Friday to work on it. Sigh.
Late nights. No game night (for me). Late podcats. Very very sad.
Donations Stopped
General September 5th, 2005
Donations to Geek Fu have stopped for an indefinite period - if you have spare cash, the nicest thing you can do to show appreciation for my show is to donate to the American Red Cross.
Please give. Things are unbelievable down there.
I just got an email from lulu.com that my CD’s won’t work because they are mono and they require stereo.
They did not tell me they required stereo files when I made the CD’s.
So whoever tried to order them - please email me privately and I’ll burn you the CD’s you want. They won’t have pretty artwork, but at least you’ll get them…
Grumble.
Geek Fu Swag
General August 25th, 2005
OK, t-shirts are available! Here’s the deal - to save money, for me and you, I had to order in bulk, so the only sizes I have are L and XL currently. If you want another size, email me and I’ll make a note to put it in the next order. If you are interested in black, or the breast pocket design, let me know and I’ll make a note of that as well (do these in email, not in order, because I want to be able to send you your order when you make it.)
If you’re international, email me and we can discuss shipping charges, then make your purchase through the donation button.
US Shipping - $3
Confusing enough? Well, if you have questions, feel free to email me.
You can also purchase my CD’s of earlier shows as well. CD 2 should be available today.
Update for Geek Fu 34
General August 1st, 2005
The essay made it into the MP3 file completely unedited, so sorry about that. I’ve fixed it. I’m not going to post it as a new enclosure, but if you want to download a fresh copy, you are free to do so.
I do NOT have RSS-fu, and am unsure how to get the old file out of my feed. I’m hoping it will update on its own. I have noticed the RSS seems to lag behind if I ever edit it. Multiple apologies for all the confusion, especially if you download two copies of the podcast…
Birthday and Fangirl Crush Musings
General July 29th, 2005
For about the last 12 years, I have celebrated my brithday along with Jason from Random Signal, his birthday being July 19 and mine the 25th. We celebrate the 6 days that we are the same age. Not once have I celebrated the fact that, for four days after that, I am the same age as Wil Wheaton.
This must stop.
So happy birthday, Wil, enjoy 33 and I’ll see you there next July 25.
Podcast is recorded. halfway through editing and mixing, Audacity died on me. No time to fix, gotta get ready for a birthday party. Will fix and upload tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
